Kigali Public Library donates 403 books to KETHA

Kigali, Rwanda – September 9, 2025. The Kigali Excellent Tourism and Hospitality Academy (KETHA) has received a donation of 403 books from the Kigali Public Library, an initiative aimed at improving access to learning resources and strengthening the quality of education.

According to Dr. Alphonse Habimana, the Principal of KETHA, the donation will help students broaden their knowledge base and support the academy’s efforts to align training with labor market demands.

“This contribution marks an important step in strengthening the quality of education and supporting our learners to access broader knowledge resources,” Dr. Habimana said. “It also aligns with the National Strategy for Transformation (NST2), which emphasizes equipping youth with skills that are innovative, practical, and competitive.”

The books are expected to enhance both teaching and learning in tourism and hospitality studies, bridging the gap between theory and practice in line with the Rwanda TVET Board (RTB) framework, which promotes competency-based education.

KETHA officials say the resources will also support research, creativity, and critical thinking—key skills for graduates seeking to thrive in Rwanda’s growing service industry.

The academy extended its appreciation to Kigali Public Library for the donation and reaffirmed its vision of becoming a center of excellence in tourism and hospitality training.
