“We are happy to be entrusted with another five-year mandate. We will continue developing our party by building on our achievements so far,” he said.

Nsabimana emphasized the importance of active member participation across all party structures and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to youth and women’s development.

“In Kigali City, we don’t have a unique objective, but we work through our youth and women forums to promote welfare. The youth represent a large portion of the population, so involving them in political activities is key to driving national development.”

Youth ready to deliver

“We are focusing on supporting the implementation of government programs, especially NST2. Our aim is to raise awareness in our communities—where we live and work—so that everyone understands the government’s development agenda,” she said.

Awamahoro noted that the youth are not just followers but active contributors to the party’s vision.
“As youth leaders in PSD, we are fully engaged and committed. We help the party grow, contribute to poverty reduction, and support the government’s efforts in development.”

Environmental leadership within PSD

Among the voices shaping the future of PSD is Dr. James Kant, an environmental expert and party member deeply engaged in sustainability initiatives.

Dr. Kant stressed that the environment is not only crucial for ecological balance but also for the well-being of Rwandans.

“We involve the youth because they have the energy and passion to drive these initiatives. Projects such as the Mayaga Restoration and Gishwati–Mukura landscape restoration are excellent examples where youth leadership is evident,” he explained.

A call to action for the future

Both Awamahoro and Dr. Kant reiterated the importance of involving youth not only as beneficiaries but as active drivers of change.

“By protecting our environment, we are protecting our future. I urge all youth, especially those in the PSD youth wing, to join us and take the lead,” said Dr. Kant.

As the PSD embarks on this new five-year journey, the party leadership reaffirmed its alignment with national priorities and its commitment to inclusive development.
