National Poetry Center Goes to South to boost cultural tourism

United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has plagued contributing to the construction of first ever national poetry center that would boost cultural tourism in Rwanda.
National poetry center to be constructed in Huye District, Murenge sector- in Southern Province aims at sharing and promoting skills by gathering talented poets across the country.
The plague to construct national poetry center was made during the International Poetry Center Day celebrated in Huye on Thursday 21, this year.
The celebrations started with three-meter-high jump competitions and saying poems for old and young talented poets.
Albert Mutesa, Secretary General of UNESCO said that “Our primary role is to develop culture, we are ready contribute to the construction of national poetry center, it will develop talent for both young and old poets by sharing best skills of creating poetry,”
“National poet center will also help in promoting cultural tourism in the country” Mutesa said.
Modeste Nsanzabaganwa, Director of Rwanda Academy of Language and Culture (RALC) said that “as we wait for the construction of national poet center, we ask you to work hard in creating best poems by avoiding mixing languages”.
“We shall find best people to construct the center and work hard to get other funders to kick-off the work soon.” Nsanzabaganwa added.
Jean Pierre Kanyandekwe, a Poet said that this center would help in gathering best poets learn from each other, culture has to be reserved, younger people will benefit from elders”.
“I wish this center also to always host national competitions,” Kanyandekwe said.
