RDB, Zipline Partner to Revolutionize Tourist Experiences with ‘Made in Rwanda’ Product Deliveries

In a pioneering move to enhance tourist experiences and support conservation efforts, Zipline, a global leader in autonomous drone delivery, has forged a strategic partnership with the Rwanda Development Board (RDB).

The collaboration aims to deliver ‘Made in Rwanda’ products to resorts and lodges across the country, with a portion of proceeds directed towards the Volcanoes National Park Expansion Project.

This groundbreaking initiative builds upon Zipline’s successful track record in delivering medical supplies and underscores its commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology for the betterment of Rwanda’s natural wildlife and economic development.

• Promoting Made in Rwanda Products

Through collaboration with RDB, Zipline will facilitate the delivery of high-quality Made in Rwanda fashion and souvenir items to lodges and hotels nationwide. The initiative aims to bolster local businesses, showcase Rwandan products, and contribute to the growth of the nation’s creative economy.

• Conservation of Rwanda’s Wildlife Habitats

A portion of the delivery fees collected by Zipline within Rwanda’s tourism sector will be allocated to the Volcanoes National Park Expansion project. This critical initiative supports conserving mountain gorilla populations and other endangered wildlife species.

• Logistical Efficiency and Sustainability

Leveraging Zipline’s autonomous drone technology will streamline the delivery process, reducing delivery times and enhancing supply chain logistics efficiency. The integration of Zipline into Rwanda’s logistics ecosystem underscores RDB’s commitment to promoting environmentally friendly technology, given the minimal carbon footprint of drone deliveries.
