Gasamagera hands over duties to Bazivamo as new FPR-Inkotanyi Secretary General

Gasamagera Wellars, the outgoing Secretary General of the Rwandan Patriotic Front (FPR-Inkotanyi), has formally handed over responsibilities to his successor, Bazivamo Christophe.

Bazivamo Christophe was confirmed in this position during the 17th National Congress of the FPR-Inkotanyi, held on 19 December 2025.

On Monday, Bazivamo officially assumed his duties following a handover ceremony with Gasamagera.

In a statement released by the FPR-Inkotanyi, the party said: “Today, at the headquarters of the FPR-Inkotanyi, the First Vice President, Uwimana Consolée, presided over the official handover ceremony between the outgoing Secretary General, Amb. Gasamagera Wellars, and the incoming Secretary General, Amb. Bazivamo Christophe.”

Gasamagera was elected Secretary General in 2023, succeeding François Ngarambe, who had held the position since 2002.

Bazivamo returns to the leadership of the FPR-Inkotanyi after a long period during which he served as Vice Chairman.
