All students from KETHA Performed in Hospitality, Tourism National Exams

As the education sector announces the results of national examinations of the academic year 2022/2023, fourteen students from Kigali Excellent Tourism and Hospitality Academy who sat for the National Examination passed all with outstanding marks and a hope to join the labour market.

Alexis Mugabo, one of the graduates from this school who is among the best performers in Tourism, with 50 out of 60 marks said that the school helped them to navigate all the potential skills and enabled them with practical experience through secured partnerships between the school and its stakeholders.

“We can continue in either advanced universities or directly join the labour market, I could not believe to figure among the best performers, it is my pleasure, and I thank KETHA for helping me and other colleague-students to build trust in ourselves, I did Tourism and Hospitality.  

Sylla Fatma Aciatou, a graduate in Culinary Arts said that the role played by the school to boost students’ academic performance is very significant, with competitive teachers and academic resources.

“I graduated in Culinary Arts, I am now pursuing my internship at a hotel, and I have hope to join the labour markets very soon, my school established partnership with VATEL, an International University based in Rwanda  that also help us continue fostering professional practical skills, I can encourage young generation to join culinary arts, it is a good profession that helps someone to learn new things, one can invest into own project or join the workforce industry.” Sylla said. 

Alphonse HABIMANA, KETHA Principal expresses joy of having the students passed the exams.

“As the leadership of KETHA, we are happy for the results of our students, we thank our students for their efforts and bahaviours during the long journey of acquiring skills at school, we also express our gratitude to our hotels, and tourism partner institutions that help us foster industrial attachments, parents who play a vital role in education of students as well as other entities, we are committed to increasing efforts in raising students’ academic performance than ever, so that they continue accessing labour markets and regional and international universities,” Habimana said.

We wish to have half of our students pass with 60 out of 60 marks in the next national exams, and have the rest of them passing with the maximum results, we are going to assess the lessons and help students continue accessing the labour market, we will foster practical training, we will put much emphasis in some subjects including Mathematics, English, Kiswahili and Kinyarwanda so that students manage to succeed next time at the maximum, they have now maximized all technical lessons with A mark, it is a milestone for the school,” he added.

All fourteen graduates from KETHA were granted a scholarship by VATEL to advance their professional skills in the Hospitality and Tourism industry at the global recognition.
