Three young innovators get cash prizes

Three young innovators have received cash prizes for boosting their companies’ production during Youth connekt awards 2018.
The awards took place at Kigali convention center on December 12, 2018.
The innovators include Clementine Mukandayisenga from Kamonyi district who got Rwf5 million cash prize from UNDP, shares worth Rwf1million from capital market authority and Laptop machine.
The awarded youth also include RCGF Rwanda Ltd that produces chairs and other furniture for gardens from cement and concrete which got Rwf 3 million cash prize from World Vision Rwanda, shares worth Rwf800,000 from Capital Market Authority and Positivo-BGH laptop.
They were followed by Sanejo Youth Ltd that produces juices and edible oil from pumpkins which got Rwf2 million from Umutanguha Finance and shares worth Rwf500,000 from Capital Market Authority as well as Positivo BGH laptop.
An award in ICT was given to Olado Business Group Ltd that practices e-commerce and this one got Rwf1.5 million by DOT Rwanda.
The award of Rwf1 million was given to Urungano cooperative from Rwamagana district that produces different products from banana fibers and leaves.
The Minister of youth, Rosmary Mbabazi thanked the young innovators and stakeholders who have been following up their projects and selecting the best ones.
She requested the youth to serve as role models to other youth so that they be able to create jobs adding that they should also avoid bad vices such as unwanted pregnancies that can impede their development vision.
