Rwanda’s 2019 Miss Popularity Mwiseneza ready to implement her project aimed at fighting stunting among children
By Elias Hakizimana.
Josiane Mwiseneza, the 2019 was offered Rwanda’s Miss Popularity crown has said that she is ready to implement her project of fighting against children stunting within the one year-time within which she will be holding the title.
Mwiseneza made the disclosure on April 19, 2019 in Kigali during a press conference that attracted various local media outlets, whereby she seized an opportunity to present her Manager who will help her to implement this initiative.
“I am here to present you my manager who will help me to successfully implement my projects, and I want to respond to some media questions that left unanswered during Miss Rwanda 2019 polls,” she said.
She said that she is in the process of looking for donors who will fund the whole implementation process and she hopes to do that without any barrier.
“I fight against stunting with an emphasis on prevention because it is difficult to cure children who are already affected. I will reach out families whose children may be at risk of being stunted and plant vegetables and fruits. One of the strengths we have is that some government institutions that have health in their responsibilities will be helping us to know the areas in needy conditions.
Mwiseneza’s Manager Justin Sunday who is currently the Chairperson of Igitenge/Kitenge Fashion House said that himself will first address the issue of maturity stunting that has affected the mindsets of some people who brought kinds of negative ideologies against Mwiseneza during Miss Rwanda 2019 polls.

“You all know that she has a project of fighting against Children stunting, but, myself, I realized that some people were affected by maturity stunting, which I need to first address. You heard about people who were bringing negative comments on social media channels and others with nonsense gifts. I want to advise who ever supporting her to do that for her as Rwanda’s Miss popularity not of her locality or her background,” Sunday noted.
“In our Miss popularity projects 2019, we plan to reach out every district countrywide and leave a significant activity in regard with fighting children stunting. The project will not see stunted children but will raise a voice and do some activities to prevent stunting among children,” Sunday said.
The miss popularity activities 2019 also include the participation in Kwibuka 25 where Mwiseneza’s fans will organise a walk to remember to a certain Genocide memorial site along with 100 days of Kwibuka to honour the victims of Tutsi killed in 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. They will also support genocide survivors to build resilience by giving some donations from the due capacity.
