Over 270,000 primary school learners to sit for national examinations

The National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA) has announced that 277,452 primary school candidates across Rwanda will sit for national examinations beginning on July 7, 2026.

The end-of-primary examinations will run from July 7 to July 9, 2026, marking a key academic milestone for learners completing primary education.

The official launch will be attended by the Minister of Education, Joseph Nsengimana, the Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, Claudette Irere, the Director General of NESA, Dr Bernard Bahati, and other senior officials from the Ministry of Education and affiliated institutions.

The Ministry of Education says the examinations play an important role in assessing learners’ competencies and strengthening the quality of education.

Officials say the exercise helps evaluate learning outcomes at the end of primary education and informs ongoing efforts to improve the education system.
