The FPR-Inkotanyi political organization has joined the Liberal Party (PL) in mourning the death of Senator Mukabalisa Donatille, the party’s president, who passed away on July 30, 2026, after an illness.

In a condolence message issued on Friday, July 31, and signed by FPR-Inkotanyi Secretary General Amb. Christophe Bazivamo, the organization expressed solidarity with PL members, Mukabalisa’s family and those who worked with her during her public service career.

“FPR-Inkotanyi joins the Liberal Party (PL) in mourning the death of Honourable Senator Mukabalisa Donatille, who served as the party’s president,” the statement said.

FPR-Inkotanyi described Mukabalisa as a dedicated public servant whose contribution to Rwanda’s development will continue to be remembered, particularly during her tenure as Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies and later as a senator.

The organization extended condolences to her relatives, friends and former colleagues, calling on them to remain strong during this difficult time.

Mukabalisa served as Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies from 2013 to 2024 before moving to the Senate, where she served until her death.

During her political career, she became one of Rwanda’s most prominent female leaders, making a significant contribution to the country’s governance through her decade-long leadership of the lower house of Parliament.
