By Elias HAKIZIMANA.
Rwanda’s journey towards sustainable development is emblematic of its commitment to gender equality standards, as exemplified by the National Gender Standards initiative.
Launched in Kigali on March 30, 2023, with the unwavering support of the UNDP and UN Women, this pioneering effort seeks to redefine workplace dynamics by promoting inclusivity and equality.
The National Gender Standards heralds a new era in workplace practices, laying emphasis on inclusivity and equality.
By furnishing comprehensive guidelines, it empowers organizations to cultivate environments where every employee, irrespective of gender, can thrive.
From recruitment to promotion processes, and from workplace culture to policies, companies are encouraged to adopt practices that foster gender balance and eradicate discrimination.
A Collaborative Approach
The collaboration between the Rwanda Standards Board (RSB), Private Sector Federation (PSF), and Gender Monitoring Office (GMO) highlights the transformative power of partnership in driving societal change. These institutions synergize their expertise and resources to ensure the seamless implementation of the National Gender Standards, thereby fostering a culture of accountability and progress.
