Young professionals gained inspirational ideas to boost their businesses

On August 27, 2018, young professionals in different disciplines and talents met with Trevor Waldock, the Founder and CEO of Emerging Leaders where they shared experience and further achievements about leadership development.

According to Trevor, “You cannot lead others without having a self-leadership spirit,”

He also defines leadership as the ability to create a story that affects the thoughts, feelings & actions of others.

Trevor was speaking during a Q and A session that aimed at helping young professionals to nurture and supplement their leadership potentials.

The event was organized by the chamber of young entrepreneurs in joint collaboration with the Klab in Kigali.

Trevor Waldock is an established international speaker and author of five books of fiction and non-fiction, including the “18 Challenges of Leadership” and “To Plant A Walnut Tree”.

Trevor is primarily a practitioner of leadership, as founder and CEO of the NGO Emerging Leaders.

Elysee Habumukiza, a young entrepreneur who is leading a social enterprise that is striving to solve malnutrition problem by using complementary porridge flour through the community café in Northern Province of Rwanda in Ingabe yacu social enterprise was among the participants.

He said that he learnt a lot from the session. “Having a partnership with an investor or any other one is paramount, I was expecting how I can get a partner in my business, second, I wanted team building spirit to have someone to work with and create a great team,” Habumukiza said.

He said he learnt from leadership definition from Trevor that highlights the three things: thoughts, feelings and actions of others.

“In leadership, I gained how to create story that will impact others, I had already a vision and the three things helped me to create a strong team.
