Why should you brush your teeth after a meal

Health experts recommend brushing teeth after having a meal and before going to bed.

“Do not brush your teeth immediately after eating, and it is recommended to brush your teeth after 3-5 minutes to prevent damage to the tooth surface. If you eat sugar or acidic foods throughout the day, it is recommended to brush your teeth as soon as possible.” Recommends Dr. Yalin Wang.

Dr. Bo Zhou says It is important to keep healthy for teeth of people because there are many kinds of diseases that could be caused by dental disease.

“In generally, brush teeth can keep clean and health while prevent some diseases from people, and you’d better brush your teeth three times one day, and the best is the time after meal.” Dr. Bo Zhou

The American Dental Association recommends brushing your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste for two minutes each time. When you brush your teeth, you help remove food and plaque — a sticky white film that forms on your teeth and contains bacteria.
