Private security companies urged to aim for quality training

Private security service providers have been urged to prioritize training as one of the key factors for professional and quality services.

The call was made on Friday, November 10, during the pass-out of the ‘Initial Security Training’ for 126 guards, including 31 female, for GardaWorld and Highs Sec private security firms, in Kigali.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Bernard Gatete, the Director of Training in the Rwanda National Police (RNP) department of Infrastructure Security and Private Security Providers (ISPSP), encouraged both companies to continue focusing on training as pillar to professionalize their guards.

He also reminded the security guards to always be guided by ethical values and to avoid corruption and other malpractices.

Inspections

Meanwhile, ISPSP conducted an inspection at various facilities in Kigali to assess the security equipment used by the private security companies and the readiness of their guards.
