President Kagame Urges Cabinet Members to Prioritize Citizen Welfare

President Kagame concluded a two-day cabinet retreat on Wednesday evening, March 20, 2024, at the Intare Arena in Rusororo, where he urged attendees to prioritize citizen welfare.
The retreat, which commenced on Tuesday, March 19th, aimed to align leaders’ efforts with Rwanda’s economic objectives and the enhancement of citizen well-being, as outlined by the Office of the President.
With Rwanda aspiring to achieve high-income status by 2035 and developed nation status by 2050, the retreat underscored the need for concerted efforts towards sustainable development.
President Kagame emphasized the importance of leaders ensuring citizens remain at the forefront of all endeavors, urging for a government that prioritizes the needs of its people.
The retreat, a tradition dating back to 2004, serves as a platform for leaders across government institutions to collaborate and synchronize their efforts.
As the event concluded, President Kagame reiterated the necessity for leaders to speak up and exhibit unwavering dedication to placing citizens’ interests above all, echoing Rwanda’s ambitious aspirations for the future.
