By The Inspirer.

President Paul Kagame arrived in Doha, the capital of Qatar, on Friday ahead of his scheduled meeting with Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar, according to Village Urugwiro.

He was welcomed at the airport by Sultan bin Saad bin Sultan Al Muraikhi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar.

The visit comes just a day after the Rwandan government condemned the September 9 Israeli strike in Doha, describing it as a violation of international norms and a threat to global stability.

President Kagame previously met with the Amir in February this year in Doha, where they discussed strengthening bilateral relations and partnerships in key sectors. Rwanda and Qatar have established cooperation in multiple areas, including defence, security, and aviation.

Qatar Airways collaborates with RwandAir in both passenger and cargo operations and has invested in the ongoing construction of the $2 billion New Kigali International Airport in Bugesera, which is scheduled for completion in 2028.
