Rwandan socialite Sandra Teta has been detained by Ugandan police following an alleged altercation with her longtime partner, renowned singer Douglas Mayanja—better known by his stage name, Weasel.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police, the incident occurred at Shan’s Bar in Munyonyo after a heated exchange between the couple. Witnesses say Teta intentionally struck Weasel with a vehicle registered as UBH 148Y. The car has been impounded at Kabalagala Police Station, where Teta is also being held.
Police say Weasel was first taken to Mukwaya Hospital before being transferred to Nsambya Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Investigators have launched a formal inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident, which reportedly occurred in the early hours of Monday morning.
Teta is a well-known figure in Kigali’s nightlife and fashion circles. She relocated to Uganda in 2018 after serving a sentence in Rwanda related to a failed fashion event.
In Kampala, she took on a promotional role at Hideout Bar & Lounge, a popular spot frequented by artists, including members of the Mayanja family.

It was during her time at Hideout that she rekindled her relationship with Weasel, a member of the once-celebrated Goodlyfe Crew and brother to fellow musicians Jose Chameleone and Pallaso.
The couple, who share a son and daughter, had previously announced plans to marry in 2022. However, their relationship has long been under public scrutiny. That same year, Teta briefly returned to Rwanda after reports emerged alleging she was a victim of domestic abuse, a case that attracted both media and legal attention.
Despite repeated turbulence, the pair have often reunited. Most recently, in May, they were seen together in Kigali, where Teta reportedly introduced Weasel to her family.
