Mothers in Africa Prayers Network (MAP) unites believers for spiritual transformation

The Mothers in Africa Prayers Network (MAP) has reaffirmed its role as a catalyst for spiritual renewal across the continent after concluding a transformative three-day All-Africa Prayer Summit in Kigali.

The summit, held at Life Givers Christian Center (LGCC), brought together believers from across Africa for an intense period of prayer, worship, and intercession for their nations.

Founded in 2018 by Apostle Tina Suwa and two Nigerian women, MAP emerged from a simple yet powerful act of faith—prayers for Nigeria’s elections. Over time, the initiative has grown into a continent-wide movement, mobilizing mothers to intercede for leadership, spiritual revival, and societal well-being.

“MAP began with women travailing in prayers, and it will prevail by travailing,” said Suwa, emphasizing the network’s unwavering commitment to prayer as a force for change.

The Kigali summit reinforced the transformative power of collective prayer, inspiring participants to take up the mantle of intercession in their respective countries. Delegates from Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and South Africa convened under the leadership of Bishop Jolly Murenzi of LGCC, engaging in fervent prayers and faith-driven teachings.

Apostle Tina Suwa leads a spiritual awakening

Apostle Tina Suwa, the visionary behind MAP, is widely recognized for her dedication to empowering believers through prayer. Under her leadership, the network has fostered unity among Christians from diverse backgrounds, emphasizing the power of intercession in shaping national destinies.

The summit featured several renowned spiritual leaders who delivered impactful teachings. Bishop Jolly Murenzi, co-founder of LGCC, underscored the significance of women’s leadership in ministry, encouraging female believers to embrace their spiritual callings.

Nigerian-British minister Apostle Ambassador Theodore Effiong, a key figure in the Ministers Prayer Network International, offered prophetic insights that reignited attendees’ faith and spiritual commitment. Meanwhile, Apostle Jolly Umuganwa challenged believers to uphold respect for spiritual leadership and live purpose-driven lives aligned with God’s principles.

Reflecting on the movement’s growth, Suwa acknowledged its divine expansion. “In the last five years, the Lord has helped us to establish our presence beyond Kigali and Nigeria,” she said. “We now have a strong presence in South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Namibia, Swaziland, Ghana, and Kenya—and we are still counting.”

MAP: A movement shaping Africa’s spiritual landscape

The MAP movement continues to expand its reach, fostering unity and faith across the continent. Through large-scale prayer mobilizations, it has empowered mothers to intercede for their nations, addressing leadership and societal challenges through spiritual warfare.

“We have seen God intervene in the affairs of nations and manifest as Governor over them,” Suwa noted. “We have seen the travail of our souls bear fruit.”

Beyond spiritual gatherings, MAP has played a crucial role in strengthening Christian unity, providing a platform for believers from different denominations to collaborate in faith-driven initiatives. The network has also been instrumental in empowering women in ministry, encouraging them to step into leadership roles and make a lasting impact in their communities.

In a significant development, MAP has now opened its doors to men. “When at the first All-Africa Prayer Summit in Togo 2023, the men complained, the Lord said to open membership to include them because Deborah went to war with Barak,” Suwa explained. This shift reflects MAP’s commitment to inclusivity, recognizing the importance of both men and women in the spiritual battle for Africa’s destiny.

As MAP looks to the future, its mission remains clear—mobilizing believers to intercede for Africa and position the continent for a great revival.

“At this five-year celebration and prayer summit, we received extraordinary grace for increase, greater impact in Africa and beyond,” said Suwa. “Together, we advance, taking territories in every nation and enthroning Jesus as Lord over all Africa.”
