Kwibuka25: E.S.S.I Nyamirambo pays tribute to former students and teachers

Officials from the Muslim Secondary school ‘Ecole secondaire scientifique Islamic’ (E.S.S.I) have paid tribute to 37 former students and teachers killed in the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi.

Issa Habakubaho, the school’s headteacher in his remarks said that they will continue to value the commemoration ceremony by helping vulnerable orphans who lost their parents during the genocide.

He added that under the Muslim principles vulnerable people should be catered for and that young students from E.S.S.I were enough trained toward the policy of Never Again Genocide.

Major Gen.Mubaraka Muganga, the commander of the Eastern Military Region and the city of Kigali urged youths from E.S.S.I to always avoid anything that can result into insecurity and unsafety of the country, by also avoiding lures to the Djihadi conflicts.

“Instead you should strive to fight anybody who can damage the security of Rwandans,” Maj.Gen Mubaraka said.

The State Minister for Primary and Secondary Education, Isaac Munyakazi recommended parents to help the country educating children who are against hate and racial ideology that led to the genocide against the Tutsi.

 

“I ask parents here to continue helping govt to give our children education that is based on good values to prepare decent leaders, and they must come from family and school education.

Let us have permanent education and give our children the heritage of heroism because we have a space to acquire such a knowledge, let us tell our children that today our Rwanda’s today is not built on ethnic groups such as Hutu, Twa or Tutsi,” Munyakazi noted.
