KETHA, City of Kigali record 300 youth seeking job opportunities through JobNet awareness drive

Kigali, November 26, 2025 — Kigali Excellent Tourism and Hospitality Academy (KETHA) has announced that 300 young people registered for employment support during the JobNet awareness drive held in partnership with the City of Kigali.

The event currently brings together between 3,000 and 5,000 job seekers and employers, with the aims to strengthen youth employability and broaden access to job opportunities.

According to KETHA, the 300 youth who requested assistance during the event will continue to receive tailored guidance to enhance their employability skills and improve their readiness for opportunities available through the City of Kigali’s broader employment programs.

Dr. Alphonse Habimana, Principal of KETHA, said the academy remains committed to supporting young people as they navigate the labor market.

“As KETHA, we are proud to have partnered with the City of Kigali in driving the JobNet awareness campaign across various media platforms,” Dr. Habimana said.

“This collaboration enabled us to reach youth seeking employment and guide those who approached KETHA for support. It reflects our shared commitment to empowering young people and strengthening Rwanda’s skilled workforce.” He added.

He noted that the initiative aligns with KETHA’s mandate to improve employability in the tourism and hospitality sector while extending support to youth across multiple industries.

KETHA is among the City of Kigali’s key partners in employment initiatives, offering training, job readiness support, internship placement, job placement, and continuous outreach.

The JobNet awareness drive, he said, continues to motivate young job seekers and boost their confidence as they prepare for the labor market.

“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the City of Kigali and all partners involved for making this initiative impactful and inspiring,” Dr. Habimana added.

The City of Kigali maintains that JobNet is part of a broader strategy to reduce youth unemployment, increase productivity, and contribute to Rwanda’s national development goals by ensuring young people have equitable access to skills and job opportunities.
