Dr. Frank Embraces Loss, Congratulates Paul Kagame on Victory

Dr. Frank Habineza of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda has congratulated Paul Kagame, who has been announced as the provisional winner of the presidential election.

Dr. Frank Habineza ran for president alongside independent candidate Philippe Mpayimana and Paul Kagame, the candidate of the RPF-Inkotanyi party, who has been declared the provisional leader in the vote count.

After hearing the provisional results, Dr. Frank Habineza accepted the outcome and extended his congratulations to Paul Kagame.

He said, “Rwandans, after receiving the provisional results from the National Electoral Commission, I would like to announce that we accept them and extend our congratulations to His Excellency Paul Kagame, who has received more votes than us. Thank you very much.”

According to the provisional results announced by the National Electoral Commission, Paul Kagame leads with 99.15% of the vote, having received 7,099,810 votes.

Dr. Frank Habineza of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda received 0.53% of the vote, with 38,301 votes.

Independent candidate Philippe Mpayimana received 0.32% of the vote, with 22,753 votes.
