Bruce Melodie eyes global stage as The Ben champions unity ahead of “The New Year Groove”

Two of Rwanda’s most celebrated artists, Bruce Melodie and The Ben, met with the media today in Kigali to share insights on their musical journeys, their vision for Rwandan music, and what fans can expect from the much-anticipated “The New Year Groove” concert.

Bruce Melodie Sets Sights Beyond Rwanda

In a candid moment during the press briefing, Bruce Melodie revealed plans to relocate from Rwanda on January 1, 2026, describing it as a strategic move to expand his artistic reach and pursue international opportunities.

“This decision is part of a bigger vision to grow and explore new horizons,” he said. “Wherever I go, I will proudly represent Rwanda, and I’ll always stand behind Rwandan music.”

Melodie emphasized that even though he plans to base himself abroad, Rwanda remains his home, and his commitment to nurturing local talent and uplifting the Rwandan sound will remain unchanged.

The Ben Calls for Collaboration Over Competition

Taking the floor, The Ben underscored the importance of unity, collaboration, and mutual support among Rwandan artists, saying that genuine growth in the music industry comes through teamwork rather than rivalry.

“When artists come together, music travels further,” The Ben said. “We must prioritize love, share experiences, and build a culture of support. That’s how Rwandan music earns its global spotlight.”

He went on to praise the abundance of musical talent in Rwanda and encouraged fans to keep championing homegrown artists, both locally and on international stages.
