Saint Gabriel School graduates 129 pupils, opens new Rusororo branch

KIGALI, Rwanda, July 12, 2026 — Ecole Primaire et Maternelle Saint Gabriel on Sunday celebrated the graduation of 129 pupils, including 58 Primary Six finalists and 71 nursery school learners, during a ceremony held at the school’s newly opened branch in Nyagahinga Cell, Rusororo Sector, Gasabo District.

The graduates completed their studies at the school’s main branch in Nyagatovu Cell, Kimironko Sector, while the graduation ceremony was held at the new Rusororo branch, which has begun enrolling nursery and primary school pupils. School leaders said both branches will continue admitting new learners, with the Rusororo branch expected to expand access to quality education in the area.

The event brought together parents, teachers, local leaders and invited guests to celebrate the pupils’ achievements and the school’s continued growth.

Speaking on behalf of the graduates, Primary Six pupil Sasha Sindayigaya expressed gratitude to teachers, parents and the school administration for their unwavering support throughout their educational journey.

“We have successfully completed our primary education, and we are confident that we will pass the Primary Leaving Examination with flying colors,” she said.

Sindayigaya also reflected on memorable experiences shared with her classmates, including an educational visit to the Ethnographic Museum on June 5, where they learned about Rwanda’s rich culture and history.

Quoting Chinese philosopher Confucius, she encouraged her fellow graduates to remain determined in pursuing their dreams.

“It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop,” she said.

She urged her classmates to remain honest, disciplined and respectful as they embark on the next stage of their education.

Headteacher Adrienne Mukabadege thanked parents for entrusting the school with their children’s education, saying the institution remains committed to nurturing both academic excellence and good character.

She encouraged pupils to use the school holidays productively by revising their lessons while also learning practical life skills such as cooking, sewing and other household responsibilities.

“We will continue strengthening language learning and practical skills,” she said.

Parents’ representative Ezechiel Munyabarenzi commended teachers for their dedication, care and compassion throughout the children’s education. On behalf of parents, he presented gifts to outstanding teachers in recognition of their exceptional service.

Representing the Executive Secretary of Rusororo Sector, Nyagahinga Cell Executive Secretary Serges Kayitare encouraged the graduates to pursue their ambitions by embracing what he described as the SODA principle—Smartness, Organization, Discipline and Activeness.

He also called on parents to strengthen their partnership with schools and engage their children in cultural and educational activities during the holidays rather than allowing them to spend excessive time watching television.

Kayitare pledged the local administration’s continued collaboration with the school to support the development of its new Rusororo branch and improve access to quality education in the community.

Ecole Primaire et Maternelle Saint Gabriel currently enrolls 494 pupils at its main branch in Kimironko Sector, Gasabo District. The school has also begun recruiting nursery and primary school learners for its newly established Rusororo branch, which aims to expand access to quality education in the area.
