19 countries join Rwanda’s 28th Expo 2025, showcasing growing private sector

The 28th edition of Rwanda’s International Trade Fair (EXPO 2025) has attracted business delegates from 19 countries, marking an increase from 17 countries last year, organizers announced.

The Private Sector Federation (PSF) revealed that 475 companies have secured exhibition stands this year, surpassing last year’s 466 exhibitors. The event runs from July 29 to August 17, 2025, and is expected to draw between 250,000 and 300,000 visitors.

At the official launch press briefing on August 5, PSF CEO Jeanne-Françoise Mubiligi highlighted the event’s expanding international reach as a sign of its growing importance for business networking and trade.

“We currently have 378 local exhibitors and 97 international participants from 19 countries, including newcomers Cameroon and Saudi Arabia,” Mubiligi said. “This growth reflects the tangible benefits businesses gain through EXPO.”

She also praised the collaboration of private sector actors and government agencies in making the event a success. New this year, electric vehicle companies are showcasing their products for the first time, underscoring Rwanda’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Antoine Marie Kajangwe, noted the EXPO’s vital role in advancing Rwanda’s economic development and Vision 2050 goals.

“The event demonstrates the progress of the private sector and guides us on where to focus support. Exhibitors range from textile producers to agricultural processors, reflecting a dynamic and diverse economy,” Kajangwe said.

Among international exhibitors, Orlando Williams from Saudi Arabia praised Rwanda as an investor-friendly country with stable security and fertile land.

Rwandan entrepreneur Jean Bosco Mungurareba presented innovative wooden wall panels designed as alternatives to traditional cement and sand finishes. He shared that EXPO participation has helped increase awareness of his products.

“These panels, used for flooring and wall cladding, reduce the need for paint and protect walls from damage and cold,” Mungurareba explained.

The 28th EXPO continues to serve as a vital platform for Rwanda’s private sector to showcase products, forge partnerships, and boost trade within the region and beyond.
