Kigali Excellent Tourism and Hospitality Academy (KETHA) has entered into a partnership with the Association of Business Executives (ABE/UK) to represent ABE programs in Rwanda, offering British qualifications.
The collaboration was discussed in a meeting between Mrs. Kereesa Carrington, the representative of ABE programs in Africa, and Dr. Habimana Alphonse, the Managing Director of KETHA, on November 27, 2023, at the Park Inn by Radisson Hotel-Kigali.
Following this meeting, Mrs. Carrington visited the KETHA Campus on November 28, 2023, to assess the institution’s capability to offer ABE qualifications. Approval was granted by the ABE accreditation department, allowing KETHA to continue representing ABE in Rwanda.
This partnership enables KETHA to provide international qualifications to its students, facilitating further studies abroad with easy access to various universities. Additionally, KETHA will benefit from the collaboration with ABE, including opportunities to visit the main headquarters, acquire staff training, and share experiences with other partner institutions affiliated with ABE.
ABE, a not-for-profit skills development specialist and a qual-regulated awarding organization, has a rich history of five decades of social impact.
Founded in 1973 by Dr. Lyndon Jones, initially known as The Association of Business Executives, ABE focuses on providing internationally recognized qualifications in business, entrepreneurship, and employability. Driven by a clear social purpose, ABE aims to improve business education for aspiring entrepreneurs in developing countries.
Mrs. Kereesa Carrington, representative of ABE programs in Africa, emphasized ABE’s work over the last five decades, building a network of international partners across four continents.
The organization is dedicated to developing skills that support businesses, empower individuals, reduce gender inequality, and address extreme poverty.
ABE’s engagement with schools focuses on fostering business and entrepreneurial skills in children. Through a network of high-quality accredited Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) centers, ABE enables adults to become professionally qualified business practitioners at any age or career stage, often providing a pathway to higher education for individuals who may not have had access otherwise.
Since its inception, around 1.5 million people globally have gained an ABE professional business qualification, reflecting the organization’s significant impact on education and skills development.
