Women Deliver launches Co-creation of a Feminist Playbook ahead of 2026 Melbourne Conference
By Elias Hakizimana.
Women Deliver has launched a bold, global initiative to co-create a Feminist Playbook—a collective strategy designed to strengthen feminist movements worldwide and respond to growing threats against democracy, equality, and human rights.
The co-creation process is already underway, with the final Playbook set to be unveiled at the Women Deliver 2026 Conference (WD2026), scheduled for 27–30 April 2026 in Narrm (Melbourne), Australia.
The gathering will be the first time Women Deliver is hosted in the Pacific region, providing a platform to elevate feminist and youth-led leadership, mobilize bold intersectional policies, and reclaim narratives under attack by far-right and anti-rights movements.
According to Women Deliver, the Playbook will not only articulate a shared vision for a just, inclusive world, but will also include concrete pledges of action from diverse organizations, activists, and constituencies.
Consultations are taking place across global platforms—including the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), COP climate summits, and other international gatherings—to ensure wide participation in shaping the Playbook.
“While feminist movements have made significant progress over the past three decades, coordinated backlash is threatening to roll back hard-won gains,” Women Deliver said in a concept note.
“We cannot remain on the defensive. This moment demands a transformative vision that rejects hate and offers hope, care, and joy.”
The organization stressed that the process of co-creation is as important as the outcome, with inclusive consultations serving to mobilize a united movement for gender equality across borders.
In parallel with the Playbook consultations, Women Deliver has opened media accreditation applications for WD2026.
Journalists worldwide are invited to apply, with the deadline set for March 2026. Early submissions are encouraged to allow time for visa processing.

With the world facing intersecting crises—from shrinking civic space to climate collapse and armed conflicts—the Feminist Playbook aims to provide a roadmap for resilience, accountability, and solidarity.
