Manzi Jean David from Musanze District has brought on board fortified organic fertilizer produced from plants. The fertilizer is being showcased in the 14th Rwanda Agrishow at Mulindi where many farmers, agro-processors, and development partners in agriculture and livestock are gathered.
Manzi currently works in two districts namely Huye in Sovu sector and Musanze in Cyuve Sector, supplying quality fertilizer.

They use wastes from homes and industries producing food in Rwanda and wastes from cattle like cows’ urine and feces, hens and pigs’ wastes and add some grasses rich in notrogen.
“When you compare agriculture produce that used current fertilizer and organic manure we know, you can see a huge discrepancy in productivity,” Manzi explained.
The research according to Manzi revealed that irish potatoes’ produce rose from 15 to 35 tons after moving from organic to this kind of fertilizer.
Manzi said that a kilogramme of the fertiliser is sold from Rwf80 to Rwf106.
