Volleyball: Rwanda U20 Men’s Team Heads to Egypt for Africa Championship

Rwanda’s U20 men’s national volleyball team has departed for Egypt to compete in the CAVB Men’s U20 Nations Championship, which is scheduled to begin tomorrow, September 11, 2025, in Cairo.

On the afternoon of Wednesday, September 10, 2025, the Minister of State in the Ministry of Sports, Rwego Ngarambe, officially handed over the national flag to the team ahead of their journey to Cairo for the continental tournament.

Head coach Dominique Ntawangundi traveled with a 12-player squad, assisted by Yves Niyonkuru and Richard Rwamahungu as strength and conditioning coach. The team’s medical support is provided by Dr. Henriette Umulisa.

The delegation left Kigali aboard Ethiopian Airlines at 11:45 a.m., with a stopover in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, before continuing on to Cairo, where they are expected to arrive at 8:05 p.m. local time.

The championship will run from September 11 to September 21, 2025.
