Accra, Ghana – Rwanda’s startup ecosystem made a remarkable impression at the 2024 Africa Startup Ecosystem Builders (ASEB) Summit & Awards held from October 1-5 in Accra, Ghana. The prestigious event, now in its third year, brought together key players from 35 African countries to share knowledge, foster collaboration, and celebrate the individuals and organizations driving the continent’s entrepreneurial growth.

The summit concluded with the ASEB Awards, which recognized 45 outstanding winners from a pool of over 2,000 nominations across 30 award categories. Rwanda emerged as a standout nation, securing three top honors, reflecting the country’s growing influence in Africa’s startup landscape.

Rwanda’s Notable Wins

Rwanda’s UR-CAVM Agribusiness Incubator, based at the University of Rwanda’s Busogo Campus, won the Coworking Space of the Year 2024 award for its vital role in fostering a nurturing environment for young agribusiness innovators. Under the leadership of Dr. Alphonsine Mukayisenga Dushimimana, who also received the Africa Startup Coach of the Year 2024 award, the incubator has supported numerous entrepreneurs, helping them transform their ideas into successful ventures.
