American rapper Rick Ross, whose real name is William Leonard Roberts II, has been released on bond after being arrested in Miami Beach, Florida, over allegations related to domestic violence.
Ross turned himself in to police on Thursday, October 1, 2026. He was accused of a serious offense involving allegedly choking another person, as well as a lesser battery charge.
During his court appearance, Ross’ lawyer asked that he not be held in custody, and the rapper was subsequently released after posting bond.
Speaking to reporters after leaving jail, Ross denied the allegations and maintained that he is innocent.
“First and foremost, I am completely innocent of these fabricated charges brought against me,” Ross said.
The rapper also expressed confidence in his legal team, saying he expects the allegations against him to be shown to have no basis.
His lawyers similarly argued that Ross had been wrongly accused by his former partner. They also pointed to the fact that the complaint was reportedly filed about a month after the alleged incident.
Ross surprised reporters waiting outside the jail by discussing his upcoming work commitments, including planned trips to Dubai and Paris, rather than focusing solely on the case.
He is expected to return to court on October 22, 2026, as the legal proceedings continue.
