President Kagame receives Ugandan special envoy to UN

Monday, January 17, 2022 Afternoon at Village Urugwiro, President Paul Kagame of Rwanda received Ugandan Ambassador to United Nations, Adonia Ayebare who delivered a message from His Excellency President Yoweri Museveni.

Rwanda’s Foreign Ministry said on their Twitter handle that the two met at Village Urugwiro on January 17, 2022.

There was no explanation on what the message from President Museveni to his counterpart.

It’s the second time the ambassador has brought such a message from President Museveni to President Kagame. The last one was in two years ago – December 2019.

There has been tension between Rwanda and Uganda over the five years back. Rwanda has accused Uganda of economic sabotage, kidnapping, torturing and killing Rwandans.

There have been several talks between both countries sending delegations to one another and face to face meeting with the two heads of states.
