Police arrest 19 men suspected of disturbing public order

Police in Nyanza District have arrested 19 men suspected of various crimes, including disturbing public order.

The operation was carried out early Thursday morning, December 5, 2024.

Southern Province Police Spokesperson SP Emmanuel Habiyaremye told UMUSEKE that the suspects hail from different villages in Mututu Cell and the sectors of Nyanza and Kibirizi.

Among those arrested are thieves, troublemakers, and individuals involved in drug abuse.

“We arrested 19 men who have been disturbing public order,” said SP Habiyaremye.

He warned those engaging in criminal activities to stop, emphasizing that police operations to track and apprehend offenders are ongoing.

The police commended residents for their cooperation in providing information on such individuals, helping to ensure that villages remain crime-free.

The suspects have been taken to the police station in Muyira Sector for further investigation.
