Nyagatare: Afro Ark Provided Food and Sanitary Items to Needy Young Mothers

This Sunday November 1, 2020, Afro Ark provided food and sanitary items to 200 vulnerable young mothers with children under 5 years in Matimba sector of Nyagatare District.

The Executive Director Miss IRIBAGIZA Patience thanked AIDS HealthCare Foundation for the funding to purchase the Items. She also thanked the leadership of Matimba Sector for the good working relationship with Afro Ark to uplift the living standards of the most vulnerable in the villages of Kagitumba and matimba cells that constitute the sector.

The local leader in charge of social affairs Mr Evode Mushimiyimana commended Afro Ark’s efforts for the continuous support to the villages of Matimba sector and more especially the young mothers who are living with HIV and have children to feed.

He further said that Afro Ark has been so supportive in educating the young mothers on Family planning, Sexual Reproductiv Health (SRH) and HIV services calling upon the young mothers to go for HIV testing and PLHIV to adhere on treatment.

He requested Afro Ark to continue their support and reach out to other vulnerable women and men that need the help.

The packages provided include Maize Flour, Rice, Beans, Cooking Oil, Milk, Salt and Soap among others. The young mothers were happy and hailed Afro Ark for the various assistance in terms of their health and socio-economic needs.
