Kinazi Cassava Plant gets International standardization certificate ‘ISO’

Kinazi Cassava Plant Ltd, a flour milling factory in Kinazi sector, Ruhango District has been awarded an International Quality Standards Certificate certifying the quality of the flour produced by the factory, issued by the Rwanda Standards Board (RSB).

It is a certificate bearing the ISO 22000: 2018 mark, which the company was given after the RSB conducted an inspection of its operations and the way it prepares its export products, based on its implementation of the requirements of international quality standards.

Viateur Ngabonzima, the Director of Quality Assurance at Kinazi Factory told IGIHE that this international quality certificate has a special meaning for its customers.

“Overall, to be certified as ISO 22000: 2018, we can say that it is a legal confirmation of the operation of the factory in accordance with the quality standards, especially the ISO 22000: 2018 regulations,” he said. That adds to the customer’s confidence that the company’s products meet the highest standards. ” he added.

Ngabonzima also said that the decision by the factory would lead to the expansion of the market, as it has already been trusted by Rwandan and foreign customers and will continue to grow.

“This will allow us to expand our markets in different parts of the world and provide a more sustainable way of getting customers what they want.”

He said that the factory usually has the quality requirements for the processing so this decision was in addition to what the factory had in common.

Ngabonzima said the quality assurance given to the factory would solve the various problems they faced, including the gradual loss of customers.

“The challenges we were facing were the lack of some customers who were focusing on ISO 22000: 2018 products, and the fact that we were looking for other international markets that valued these brands very much,” he said.

He added that the factory will continue to value customers who are looking for quality products and other requirements that customers bring to the factory, all of which will be strengthened to bring the company’s products to the international level.

Kinazi Cassava Plant Ltd is a cassava flour processing plant located in Ruhango District in the Southern Province, where it started operations in 2012, processing cassava flour for sale in Rwanda and abroad.
