[PHOTOS]: KETHA school commends efforts by different partners in promoting quality TVET education

Kigali Excellent Tourism and Hospitality Academy (KETHA) lauds efforts by different partners who tirelessly make significant strides in promoting TVET education with the aim to help youth embrace the labour market.

KETHA TVET programs are in the long-term vision of the Government of Rwanda through Rwanda TVET Board (RTB) to train and educate youth who are able to compete at the labour market.

Successful implementation of this initiative involves partnership between TVET schools and the private sector to foster industrial experience and for students and graduates and to employ them in various industries.

KETHA school recognizes the efforts of Rwanda Development Board (RDB) and Rwanda Convention Bureau (RCB) for their support in making good understanding of the students towards Tourism and good service delivery in Rwanda through travel tours and on-site training at school. KETHA School invest much efforts in students’ training and link them with the institutions that help them to make further practices necessary for the labour market.

The Government of Rwanda targets 60 percent of TVET students from ordinary level by 2024 as the sector gives a promise in fostering citizens wellbeing and development of the country through employment and job creation.

KETHA school that operates in Kimironko sector, Gasabo district owes special thanks to its partners who support students to navigate through different opportunities mentioned above. “Our special thanks go to Rwanda TVET Board and NESA, these institutions help our students in not only overseeing how they are taught by different schools but also are helping schools with capacity building by empowering trainers with some important skills in Competence Based Training,” said Alphonse Habimana, Principal of KETHA.

Alphonse Habimana, the Principal of KETHA encourages youth to use the opportunities they get from the country by creating won jobs soon after graduation from TVET schools.

“They also have an opportunity closer them at school whereby they are trained to create own jobs, at the sector level they are trained on project design and implementation; and they are facilitated to link up with Microfinance Institutions that give them startup capital. We thank partners who contribute basic materials for TVET graduates to help them create jobs.
