KETHA recognized as Kigali’s Best Employer at JobNet 2025

Kigali Excellent Tourism and Hospitality Academy (KETHA) has been recognized as the Best Employer of the Year during the 14th edition of Kigali JobNet, held on June 25, 2025, at Petit Stade Remera.

The annual event, now in its 15th edition, brought together public institutions, private sector employers, and hundreds of young job seekers from across Kigali.

Organized by the City of Kigali in partnership with labor and education stakeholders, JobNet aims to bridge the gap between job seekers and employment or skills development opportunities.

Each year, the City of Kigali assesses participating institutions based on their contribution to youth employment. KETHA, based in Kicukiro District, stood out for placing a large number of youth into the job market through partnerships with hotels and tourism-related companies.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Habimana Alphonse, Director of KETHA, thanked Kigali City authorities for acknowledging the school’s impact. He also expressed gratitude to partners including the Rwanda TVET Board (RTB), NESA, hotel operators, and tourism businesses.

Special appreciation was extended to CHANCEN INTERNATIONAL, an organization that pre-finances tuition for students in short-term vocational courses, with repayments made after beneficiaries secure jobs.

Dr. Habimana credited the award to Rwanda’s visionary leadership, emphasizing that connecting young people to employment requires collaboration, dedication, and a focus on quality education. He reaffirmed KETHA’s commitment to preparing youth for the labor market through inclusive and responsive training programs.

Since its inception in 2014, JobNet has made a measurable impact. More than 4,000 individuals have secured permanent jobs, while approximately 5,000 found temporary employment.

Nearly 10,000 young people have benefited from entrepreneurship training offered through the platform, underscoring its role in transforming the local labor landscape.
