Human Resource personnel from private corporate institutions discuss the future of work

At least 70 Human Resources staffs from various private corporate Institutions in Rwanda met in Kigali Serena Hotel on April 5, 2022 to discuss the future of work midst the work festival 2022.

The festival that was organized by Eagles Capacity Building Center under the theme: ‘The future of work in a technology-driven world’ was interactive with hands-on and case study sessions about how technology can help to ensure successful work results.

Speaking amidst the festival which was also followed by thousands of people virtually in Lagos, Nigeria and Kigali, Francine Havugimana, Founder and Executive Director of Eagles Capacity Building Center said that this initiative aims at helping employees and institutions to strive for successful work driven by technology.

“We are looking ahead to support people to achieve their works successfully by embracing technology. For instance Covid-19 pandemic proved how Technology can be used to fast track activities without moving from side to sides, Technology has brought support mechanisms that help institutions perform different works.” Havugimana said.

She said that they started with private sector and they plan to expand the move to the public sector employees in the near future.

Havugimana advises some Institutions that still count on hours an employee spends at work place rather than what he/she is expected to deliver.

“Employees need to look beyond the hours an employee has spent at the workplace and immediate income in money, they need to see the results of the work achieved by an employee and respect an employee as their major asset. Research proved that when an employee is facilitated at work can deliver at the excellent extent.” She said.

Eagles Capacity Building Center has as core mission to challenge conventional wisdom, transform careers and empower people to change the way they do business and live healthy.

The centre also offers capacity building training, personal development analysis as well as wellbeing and mental health counselling.

Digital transformation at workplace

The work festival this year embarked on digital transformation to accelerate the future of work in a technology-driven world through resilient leadership and sustainability, people engagement, financial inclusion, technology, digital, human capital management, better wellbeing, workforce up-skilling and result-oriented styles for a successful workplace.

“We need to have tools in place to train people how to go about job examination, pass job interviews, and these tools are available. We started from financial sector institutions and we will expand the initiative to other sectors.” Havugimana noted.
