By The Inspirer.

The Catholic Diocese of Gikongoro is mourning the loss of Father Gervase Twinomujuni, who served as the Parish Priest of Bishyiga Parish in Buruhukiro Sector, Nyamagabe District. He passed away on November 23, 2024, after battling an illness.

The sad news was confirmed in an official statement signed by Bishop Célèstin Hakizimana, the Shepherd of the Diocese of Gikongoro.

Father Twinomujuni’s funeral service is scheduled for November 29, 2024. It will be preceded by a requiem Mass at Gikongoro Cathedral, beginning at 11:00 AM, to honor his life and pray for his soul.

This marks the third loss of a priest in the Diocese of Gikongoro this year. Earlier in 2024, the diocese bid farewell to Father Peter Balikuddembe, who passed away in March, and Father Félicien Hategekimana, who died in July.

Father Twinomujuni’s dedication to his pastoral duties and the spiritual guidance he provided to his community have left a lasting legacy. His passing is deeply felt across the diocese.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
