Following the draw that determined how qualified countries will be grouped into four pools for the African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024), the two remaining spots to complete the lineup of 19 teams were also revealed.

On January 15, 2025, the draw took place in Nairobi, outlining the four groups made up of 17 countries already qualified for CHAN 2024. This tournament, scheduled for August this year, will be hosted by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.

The competition will feature 19 teams divided into four groups: three groups with five teams each, and one group with four teams.

Many had speculated that Rwanda could claim one of the two remaining spots. However, CAF (Confederation of African Football) excluded Rwanda from the contenders.

The two remaining spots will be contested by six nations: Egypt, Algeria, South Africa, Comoros, Gambia, and Gabon. Two of these teams will be placed in Group C to bring its total to five teams.

Group A includes Kenya, Morocco, Angola, Zambia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Group B features Tanzania, Madagascar, Burkina Faso, the Central African Republic, and Mauritania. Group C includes Guinea, Niger, and Uganda, while Group D comprises Nigeria, Senegal, Congo Brazzaville, and Sudan.
