Goma residents welcome new leaders
By The Inspirer.
Many people gathered at the Stade de l’Unité for the arrival of the new leaders of North Kivu Province and the Coordinator of the AFC/M23 coalition, Corneille Nangaa.
The event was filled with visible joy from the citizens, reflected in both their expressions and voices.
As leaders of the M23 movement entered the stadium one by one, the crowd greeted them with great enthusiasm. During the event, a large number of young people from Goma expressed interest in joining the M23 military group.
Manzi Ngarambe Willy, recently appointed as the Deputy Governor of North Kivu in charge of political affairs, governance, and law, promised effective leadership through his X (formerly Twitter) account. He stated, “Trust in peace, security, development, infrastructure, job creation, cleanliness, coexistence, investment, agriculture, and more.”
He assured the people that the future is bright, saying, “The future will be free from refugees, corruption, hunger, conflicts, land disputes, and many other issues. Today, AFC/M23 has chosen to build a good home where every citizen of Congo is welcomed, valued, and secure.”
He thanked those who placed their trust in him.
This event followed a declaration by the M23 group two days prior, announcing a temporary ceasefire to allow the delivery of aid to those in need. Meanwhile, the leadership reassured citizens that those who fled and left their property behind, some of which was taken by others, would have it fully returned.
