“This is not the life I chose”: Vestine hints at marital breakdown in emotional message

Gospel singer Ishimwe Vestine has raised concerns about the state of her marriage after sharing emotional posts on social media, expressing deep regret over her decision to wed her husband, Idrissa Jean Luc Ouédraogo.

In a heartfelt message posted in English, Vestine revealed that she is living a life she never intended and is going through painful moments she believes she does not deserve.

She wrote: “Today, the life I am living is not the life I chose. I am living in a bad situation, and I didn’t deserve this. I know I made a bad decision in my life, but it’s okay. God allows some things to happen so we can learn. I have learned a lot. No man will ever lie to me again to destroy my life.”

Sounding deeply remorseful, she went on to say that any future partner she chooses will be someone she knows thoroughly.

“The next man I choose to be with, I will first get to know him well, know his family, and know everything about him. No one will ever use me again.”

Her posts have left fans speculating about a possible split, especially after she deleted all photos featuring her husband from her Instagram account.

Vestine is currently in Canada, where she has been touring different regions for a series of gospel concerts, which wrapped up this weekend.

The couple married on July 5, 2025, after previously legalizing their union through a civil marriage ceremony.
