The 21st Rwanda International Trade Fair to focus on cashless transactions

Rwanda is hosting the International Trade Fair 2018 which is the 21^st in the country with an innovation of using tap and go cards to enter the expo grounds. As of now, the cards have been being used for public transport and are now used

The trade fair (exhibition) as usual is taking place at Gikondo Expo ground in Kicukiro District and is organized by the Private Sector Federation (PSF) and the Ministry of Commerce and Trade (MINICOM).

The three-week-long expo running from July 26, 2018 to August 15, 2018 will attract more than 500 exhibitors from 23 countries who will be exhibiting their products, which is higher than last year’s 15 countries which attended it.

Stephen Ruzibiza, PSF Chief Executive Officer said that the entry fee has not changed as people will load Rwf500 on their cards and those who will not have cards will be facilitated to enter as the AC group company that owns the technology will be there as a facilitator.

The aim of using such a technology is to reduce use of paper, ink and jam when entering where 10 entrance gates will be used to access the expo grounds.

The official opening of this exhibition is scheduled tomorrow on July 27, 2018 at Gikondo expo ground.
