Kigali, Rwanda, 15 May 2024 – Project Management Institute (PMI), the leading authority in project management, has announced the rebranding of its flagship PMI Africa Conference to PMI Global Summit Series | Africa.

This strategic evolution aims to better align Africa’s premier gathering of project professionals with the prestigious PMI Global Summit, ensuring a unified and consistent experience that meets the high standards expected at major PMI events.

Rwanda, often referred to as the “jewel of Africa,” will host the PMI Global Summit Series | Africa at the Kigali Convention Centre from November 18 to 20, 2024. The previous event, held in Nairobi, Kenya, attracted over 700 project professionals from across Africa and around the world.

Rwanda’s Optimistic Economic Outlook

Innocent Kayigamba, President of PMI Rwanda Chapter, highlighted Rwanda’s positive economic forecast, “We can expect the economy to regain momentum and improve to over 7%. This optimistic outlook is fueled by the forecasted recovery in tourism, construction, and heightened manufacturing activities. As project activity improves, so will the prospects for project professionals.”

Kayigamba continued, “Hosting the conference in Rwanda becomes crucial. It will allow professionals to enhance their knowledge and skills in line with emerging economic opportunities. Additionally, it will expose the youth to the vast potential of a career in project management, aligning with the growing needs of our economy.”
