Mardi-Bio Exhibition to promote Organic agriculture and raise consumer awareness

Rwanda organic Agriculture Movement (ROAM) and Youth in Agroecology business learning Track Africa (YALTA Initiative) in collaboration with different stakeholders involved in the organic sector in Rwanda have organized an exhibition of made in Rwanda organic products called “Mardi Bio- Meet the Farmer, Know the Source”.

The one-day exhibition will take place on December 8, 2020 in Kimironko sector, Gasabo district and will be an opportunity to raise awareness on the benefits of organic products (healthy, nutritious and good prices on market) but also it will provide linkage opportunities between the organic producers and the market as they sometimes face challenges of lack of access to market for their produce and market information.

The exhibition will start at 10:00 am to end 3:00 Pm at Rwanda Organic Agriculture Movement (ROAM) office in Kimironko opposite UR-College of Medicine &Health Sciences (former KIE).

Given the fact that organic agriculture improves the availability and access to affordable, nutritious, and safe food, it sustains the ecosystems, ensures fairness with regard to the common environment and life opportunities but finally organic agriculture protects the health and well-being of the current and future generations.

The exhibition has as objectives to raise consumer awareness on the benefits of Organic Products, to Promote Made in Rwanda Organic Products, to link organic producers and processors with consumers. (strengthening organic market), to promote Organic agriculture as an alternative farming method which contribute to healthy environment, food security safe nutrition, to share information on business opportunities available in the Organic sector and to increase the visibility of ROAM and organic stakeholders.

The exhibition will bring together Different stakeholders involved in the organic sector including farmers, producers, consumers, and other agripreneurs.

This exhibition will mainly focus on showcasing organic agricultural products, innovations and services among others.

Participants will get a good time for interaction with producers and end-users of organic agricultural products with the facilitation of ROAM.

Rwanda Organic Agriculture Movement (ROAM) is an umbrella organization of different stakeholders involved in the organic sector in Rwanda.
