Kigali: One suspect arrested over machete attack on resident

Rwanda National Police has arrested one of three young men captured on video assaulting a resident with a machete in Nyarugenge District, Kigali.

The incident occurred on September 11, 2025, in Rwampara cell, Nyarugenge sector.

In a statement posted on X on September 12, police said: “We inform you that one of the individuals seen in the video, where three people were brutally attacking a resident, has been arrested. The search for the other two suspects is ongoing.”

Reports indicate that the assailants were attempting to rob the victim of his belongings when the attack took place.
