Various African artists have embarked on the impact of collaboration in promoting creative arts and rethinking on the industry for the betterment of business ecosystem that enables them to share opportunities.
The statement was made during a press conference that was held on June 30, 2022 in Kigali City, bringing together various artists from across the African Continent and arts sponsors as well as the organizers of AIC-MOCA festival under the theme: “Art and Creativity for Change”.
AIC-MOCA festival is a joint project by Africa in Colors, a Rwandan-based art initiative represented by Raoul Rugamba and Movement of Creatives Africas (MOCA), a French based initiative represented by Cameroonian art entrepreneur Alain Bidjeck.
The press conference was the side-event of the ongoing three-day summit and festival that runs from June 30, 2022 until July 3, 2022.
Speaking during this press conference, Raoul Rugamba, Founder of Africa in Colors said that the initiative aims at strengthening community education, collaboration and easing access to funding.

“We chose three countries to host this event between France, Cameroun and Rwanda, then we finally decided it to take place here in Rwanda as one of the countries on the continent doing good things and with bright mind people; investors and decision makers. The move will help us to achieve more in creative art industry.” Rugamba said.
The collaboration of the artists also looks at creating a conducive environment to expand opportunities in creative art industry in-and-out the continent.
Laouni Mouhid, famous French rapper known in music as ‘La Fouine’ who arrived in Kigali on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 has also participated to the press conference and will be performing in the concert slated for Saturday, July 2 at Kigali Car Free Zone’s Imbuga City Walk as part of the AIC-MOCA festival.

He promised his fans and Rwandan youth in general to entertain them, using both French and English language.
La Fouine explained that Music is all about passion and not a business that target money. “Music is not a job as many people think, Music is Love, it is all about passion and not money oriented. Music is always reserved for talented youth. I can remind youth to support artists because Music is a key communication tool to deliver message in our society.” He said.
