Rwanda, Cambodia move to implement new cooperation agreements

Rwanda and Cambodia are set to deepen bilateral cooperation following high-level talks in Kigali between Prime Minister Dr. Justin Nsengiyumva and Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Prak Sokhonn.

The meeting focused on putting into action two newly signed agreements: a Memorandum of Understanding on Bilateral Consultations to strengthen diplomatic dialogue, and a Visa Exemption Agreement for holders of diplomatic and service passports to ease official travel between the two nations.

Prak Sokhonn praised Rwanda for its excellent organization of the 46th Ministerial Conference of the Francophonie, during which Cambodia was selected to assume the organization’s presidency.

Prime Minister Nsengiyumva congratulated Cambodia on the new role and wished the country success as it prepares to host the upcoming 20th Francophonie Summit.

Rwanda and Cambodia enjoy growing ties supported by cooperation in political and diplomatic affairs, and both countries remain active members of the global Francophonie community. The new agreements are expected to boost future collaboration, including in trade, education and cultural exchange.
