KETHA partners with TLIS for Internationally Certified English Courses

Kigali Excellent Tourism and Hospitality Academy (KETHA) has signed a significant partnership today with Tomorrow’s Leaders International Schools (TLIS), a British Council-certified center, to launch Communication English courses tailored for Rwanda’s tourism and hospitality sector.

The signing ceremony took place in Kimironko, Kigali, on December 11, 2024 with Dr. Habimana Alphonse, Responsible English Language Centre at KETHA, and Mr. Hassan Elobeid, CEO of TLIS, representing their respective institutions.

This collaboration aims to equip professionals and aspiring individuals in the tourism and hospitality industry with enhanced communication skills and internationally recognized certification through the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

“This partnership addresses a critical gap in communication skills within Rwanda’s growing tourism and hospitality industry. We are empowering participants to compete on a global stage,” Dr. Habimana said.

The program is open to KETHA trainers, graduates, current trainees, and external participants looking to improve their communication skills while earning globally recognized credentials.

“This initiative not only improves professional standards in the industry but also opens new opportunities for individuals to thrive internationally,” Mr. Elobeid added.

Participants will benefit from a curriculum specifically designed to meet the communication demands of the tourism and hospitality sectors. Upon successful completion, they will receive IELTS certification, enhancing their prospects in both local and international markets.

The partnership marks a milestone in bridging the skills gap in Rwanda’s tourism industry, aligning with the nation’s efforts to become a regional hub for tourism and hospitality excellence.

The courses are set to begin soon, with enrollment details to be announced in the coming days.
