Nyanza Murder Suspect Found with Deceased Security Guard’s Phone

Two individuals are in police custody, suspected of killing a female security guard working at one of the security companies in the City of Nyanza. The guard was recently found dead, with suspicions that she was murdered.
On September 19, 2024, the body of 21-year-old Nishimwe Louise, a resident of Nyamiyaga Village in Gacu Cell, Rwabicuma Sector, was discovered in a forest during the morning hours in Kirwa Village, Mushirarungu Cell, also in Rwabicuma Sector, Nyanza District.
After an investigation, it was reported that two individuals, including a person who works as a community informer, commonly known as “abahwituzi,” in Kirwa Village, were arrested.
Further information revealed that one of the suspects was found in possession of the victim’s phone. It is said that when the victim was killed, her phone was taken, and this piece of evidence is being used against the suspects.
Rwabicuma Sector Executive Secretary, Niwemwana Immaculé, confirmed the news to IGIHE.
She said, “Detailed information will be provided by RIB since they are handling the case. I haven’t had the chance to request comprehensive details.”
For now, those arrested are being held at RIB’s Busasamana branch in Nyanza District.
