Rwanda is among 29 countries taking part in the 61st International Trade Fair (FACIM 2026) in Mozambique, where Rwandan businesses are showcasing locally made products and seeking new markets and investment opportunities.
The trade fair, held in Marracuene District in Maputo Province, brings together more than 600 exhibitors from 29 countries alongside more than 2,300 Mozambican companies.
Rwanda’s participation followed an invitation from the Government of Mozambique, with the country represented at the official opening by its Ambassador to Mozambique, Col. (Rtd) Donat Ndamage.
Rwandan entrepreneurs participating in the exhibition are showcasing products from several sectors, including agro-processing, leather products such as shoes and bags, and cosmetics, particularly hair-care products.
The participation is intended to promote products made in Rwanda, expand their access to the Mozambican market and identify opportunities for investment and business partnerships.
Mozambique’s President, Daniel Francisco Chapo, visited the Rwandan exhibition stand during the opening of the fair, where he viewed products presented by Rwandan businesses.
The President said the participation of local and international exhibitors demonstrated Mozambique’s potential to produce, compete in international markets and expand its trade opportunities.
The exhibition is expected to attract more than 55,000 visitors during its six-day run, with products and services showcased in sectors including technology, agriculture, livestock, the blue economy and small and medium-sized enterprises.
Organisers expect the fair to contribute to Mozambique’s export ambitions, with the country targeting about $7.5 billion in export earnings.
For Rwanda, the event provides a platform for businesses to connect with potential buyers, investors and partners from Mozambique and other international markets.
Rwanda’s participation also reflects efforts to expand trade beyond traditional markets by creating opportunities for locally processed agricultural products, manufactured goods and other value-added products to reach new consumers.
